Trekker Tent 1A
Being the lightest and cheapest 1 man tent that RiverCountryProducts offers, it is understandably one of the most popular options for solo backpackers on a budget. The 1A is loved for its length, awning, easy setup, and great durability.

Hiking with the 1A
As my personal choice, the 1A has seen plenty of trail time. My most recent trip was up to the Boxlakes, they are extremely pretty, loaded with fish, but very brutal to hike to. By the time I made it to the first lake I was exhausted and it had just started to rain, that was all the excuse I needed to set up camp for the night. I don't usually hike with trekking poles so I had to look around for some sticks to use instead, after I had set up my tent it really started to pour, to escape the elements I sat half in half out of my tent while I cooked a peek meal (shoutout Beef Strougonaugh) under my awning staying completely dry. After dinner I put my bag at the foot of my tent to keep it dry and went to bed. I woke up in the morning completely dry with only a little condensation in the tent, which is to be expected in all 1 layer tents. The tent is my go to not just because of the weight and price, but because of the durability, and I am reminded of it every time I take it out on the trail.

Pros and cons
The Trekker Tent 1A is a phenomenal tent, but still has some shortcomings. My two biggest issues with it are the short height and the easy condensation. At only 32 inches tall in the middle I am unable to sit straight up without my head brushing the ceiling making it a little uncomfortable to get ready in the mornings. The tent also has a little condensation on the walls every morning. This is mostly caused by your breathing and is due to the one layer construction of the tent. My two favorite things about the tent however are the super light weight and the awning door. I use the awning far more than I ever thought I would. I eat meals under it, I normally leave it open when I sleep, and I'll store stuff I don't want in my tent, like my shoes, underneath it.

Conclusion
The trekker Tent 1A punches far above its price, sure it's a little short and suffers from a little condensation, but what you get for the price is pretty much unbeatable. It is great for thru-hiking or backpacking and has been my trusted companion for years. If you're looking for a tent to try I would definitely recommend the Trecker Tent 1A.
