The Trekker Tent 4 is largest tent made by RiverCountryProducts, it comfortably accommodates four people over 6 ft tall and is tall enough to stand straight up inside. Weighing 4 pounds 10 ounces (with stakes), it is surprisingly light and perfect for a backpacking trip with family and friends, or a camping trip where you want to feel like you’re living in a spacious room. The tent is set up using one trekking pole and six stakes, so it is extremely easy to get it standing.
Using the Trekker 4
Whenever my kids and I go backpacking, we always distribute the load amongst ourselves. This tent fits me and my kids comfortably, which allows us to significantly decrease the amount of weight that we need to bring. Last time I went backpacking with my two sons, we brought one tent for the three of us. We had enough room to fit all three of us, along with our sleeping pads and our three backpacks. Even with all our stuff in the tent, we weren't anywhere near close enough to each other to rub shoulders. My sons also love sharing the tent because the three of us keep it warm, even on the coldest nights.
The good and the bad
The tent provides amazing space and comfort. It's super easy to set up and is perfect for a family. However, it still has a couple of negatives, because of the height of the tent, a normal trekking pole won't work when setting it up, so you have to have a special piece to connect your two poles together. (or find a big stick). Along with that, it is a little heavy to justify for just one person.
