I'm so glad I got this little backpacking tent. It is awesome for me and my fiance, not only is it super light weight and easy to set up. It is also easy to get torn down and rolled back into the little bag it comes with.
This is the third backpacking tent I bought from river country. Like the other 2 this tent is just as awesome
I searched and searched for a light trekking pole tent which I could count on for my occasional weekend backpacking trips, but wouldn't break the bank. I kept coming back to River Country and ultimately decided on the new 2V. If you're on the fence, just do it. You wont be disappointed. Great quality, great design and it's obvious they care about their designs. I couldn't be happier about this tent.

Spacious tent, great design!
This is my third RCP tent (bought the other two for my daughters), and they’ve really been good purchases for the price. The 2V has plenty of room for two people (could probably get a kid in there besides), or one person with ample storage space.
The high entrance height allows for sitting up comfortably and getting in/out without awkwardness. I appreciate the zipper centered on one side of the vestibule, leaving a large area for storage. Keep in mind that you need at least one pole that extends to a good height; I used the add-on RCP carbon poles (although they’re much heavier than my pricy Black Diamond poles)
The open screen design is wonderful, and unusual for a backpacking tent. I had been concerned about the half-fly design, but when the side pullouts are in place (which adds a lot of usable interior space), the roofline “bows” so that wind-driven rain is very unlikely to enter the tent under the fly. When I was surprised by a 4am thunderboomer, it was a very quick matter to deploy the rainfly— four quick hooks, once I’d oriented the fly properly.
This tent is a little on the heavy side, compared with (vastly) more expensive tents, but it’s also made of sturdy fabrics and should last a long time. Thanks, River Country, for making great gear affordable!
